As the representative of Mayor Oca Malapitan, City Administrator Engr. Oliver Hernandez signed the MOU with Meralco officials headed by Meralco Caloocan Business Center Head Ma. Corazon Pilapil and Meralco Camarin Business Center Head Alleni Pascual.

The MOU stated that in processing electrical permits, after the survey has been conducted by Meralco, the resident or applicant will only need to go to the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO) once for their application of electrical wiring permit and CFEI.

After this, the OCBO itself will submit the said document to Meralco online, which is needed to implement the electric meter application.

"This will make it faster and easier for those processing electric meter applications. If before, it used to take two weeks or more, now within a week it could be fixed," said Hernandez.

"Apart from this, their exposure to COVID-19 infection will also be reduced amid the pandemic," he added.

Mayor Malapitan, for his part, extended his thanks to Meralco for being a contributor to the timely project. (PIA NCR)
