Mayor Geraldo Luglug issued Executive Order No. 13, series of 2021 placing under critical zones and lockdown barangays Poblacion, Piwong, Namulditan, Umalbong and Bitu from April 24 to May 7, 2021 due to the surge of COVID-19 cases.
“These barangays have recorded a relatively high number of COVID-19 positive cases, so there is a need to conduct immediate and complete contact tracing as well as swabbing of all primary contacts in the mentioned barangays,” Luglug stated.
As of April 27, barangay Poblacion recorded the highest confirmed cases with 85 followed by Piwong with 68, Umalbong with 45, Namulditan with 38 and 37 for barangay Bitu.
While these barangays are on lockdown, minimum public health standards shall be complied with at all times, strict home quarantine shall be observed in all households and the movement of residents shall be limited to accessing of essential goods and services, for work in permitted offices or establishments.
Any person below 18 years old, those who are over 65 years of age and with immunodeficiency, comorbidity or other health risks and pregnant women shall remain in their residences at all times, except when indispensable under the circumstances for obtaining essential goods and service.
Mass gatherings shall be prohibited, curfew hour shall be implemented from 8:00 PM to 5:00 in the morning except for frontliners on duty, workers whose schedules are not confined to daytime and emergency cases.
Police personnel, barangay officials and other authorized individuals are empowered to ensure that the implementation of the executive order is carried out with utmost consideration for the order, safety and security of all persons involved.
The Barangay Health Emergency Teams and Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams shall assist in the implementation while the police force in coordination with the concerned barangays officials shall establish checkpoints to regulate and monitor the exit and entry of people. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
