In a related development, Johnny Carillo, 67 years old from Macutay, Rizal and beneficiary of DA technology assistance, tools and equipment including a solar-powered irrigation system successfully established a diversified agriculture farm he named as “Green Valley Farm” with mango as his main crop.
He acquired certification of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) through the assistance of the DA and the local government unit of Rizal, Kalinga in 2019. Being a GAP certified, it positively affects the quality of the mango considering that it is clean, safe, and is easy to market at a reasonable price.
Carillo presently manages around 456 quality mango trees integrated with fish culture and rice farming.
The Green Valley Farm is registered to offer Agricultural Crop Production NC II course under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority program.
With his countless accomplishment in life, he shares his experiences with fellow farmers in every opportunity possible.
