DOH – CAR, in an emergency meeting of the Regional Task Force COVID-19 Friday (March 19), reported an increasing trend of cases in the region, wherein as of their March 18 data, there are already 17,207 cases which increased by 1,062 or 6.6 percent in just a week compared to their March 11 data.
Cordillera as a region is generally averaged under moderate epidemic risk level both on the 2 – week growth rate and the Average Daily Attack Rate. However, Ifugao is under high risk in terms of the 2WGR while Baguio City, Kalinga and Mountain Province are under high epidemic risk level in terms of ADAR.
DOH – CAR reported that there are 201 new confirmed cases, 43 recoveries and 3 deaths recorded today which brings the total confirmed cases to 17,561, where 1,869 (10.59 percent) are active cases, 15,527 (87.97 percent) already recovered and 250 (1.42 percent) died.
Of the 1,869 active cases, nine are in Abra, 97 in Apayao, 704 in Baguio City, 435 in Benguet, 67 in Ifugao, 147 in Kalinga and 410 in Mountain Province.
DOH – CAR Assistant Regional Director Dr. Amelita Pangilinan outlined that non – compliance to the minimum public health standards and quarantine/isolation protocols remain contributory factors in the increase or clustering of case
In which, Pangilinan reminds anew the BIDA Solusyon Plus (+) strategy against COVID – 19 or the Bawal ang walang face mask at face shield, I-sanitize ang kamay at iwasan ang kulob na lugar, Dumistansiya ng isang metro, Alamin ang tamang impormasyon at plus – suportahan ang Food and Drug Administration – approved na bakuna.
She also reiterated the need to avoid the 3Cs against COVID – 19, especially to working people or those who frequently going – out to make sure that they will not be bringing the virus back to their homes. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
