CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Jan. 24 (PIA) - - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is calling on technical-vocational institutions (TVI) to submit early their Scholarship Allocation Plan (SAP) for funding approval.

Imee Ann Dong-as, provincial TESDA information officer , said TESDA-Cordillera Regional Director  Manuel Wong  recently met  with TVI heads urging them to prepare and submit their respective SAP for his endorsement to central office.

TESDA-CAR Director  Manuel Wong visits Kalinga and meet s with TVI heads asking them to submit their Scholarship Allocation Plans for early funding approval.

There are 14 TVIs in the province that include four farm schools and one university offering registered tech-voc programs with TESDA.

“It will take 10-15 days funding approval period, hopefully to start accepting enrollees later part of February if all proposals are submitted this month,”  Dong-as said.

The proposal includes qualifications, number of class, breakdown of fees, training duration among others. “Training is free including assessment,” she said.

Meanwhile, training on organic farming and construction painting are on-going at the  TESDA provincial training center here.

Dong-as said they are accepting applicants for training on regular courses offered by TESDA except on electrical installation and maintenance since the program is undergoing migration and upgrading.

The TESDA provincial training center here  received last year a One Star Rating in Driving. Validation was done last week to determine its present rating. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
