Provincial ALS Coordinator Arsenio Yongoyong said as contained in a memorandum circular issued by DepEd Secretary Leonor Magtulis Briones, some activities are lined up before the intervention starts.
These are literacy mapping from February to May 2019, learning intervention for the 2018 learners in preparation for the 2018 Accreditation and Equivalency Test, training on the utilization of ALS K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum and new ALS Assessment Form, and Informal Education Training and Life Skills Training for ALS teachers from March to May 2019.
The DepEd will download funds for the conduct of the training on the utilization of the ALS K to 12 Basic Education.
However, contracting of service providers and the implementation of ALS program through the Balik Paaralan Para sa Out-of-School Adults (BP-OSA) will be temporarily suspended except in regions with ongoing BP-OSA, until the DepEd issues a policy in the new financial model for contracting service.
ALS is the former Non-Formal Education Bureau of the DepEd that now covers a broader scope and provides education services that caters to the OSY, out-of-school adults, basic education to illiterate adults and accreditation and equivalency tests to those who dropped out from school.
