Located at the back of the Kiangan Youth Hostel, the Center costing P5 million began construction in 2017 under the Local Support Fund of the DIlG through its Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities Program to equitably assist all municipalities in the delivery of basic services by providing them financial subsidy for the implementation of their priority programs and projects.
An evacuation center is one of the priority programs of the town headed by Mayor Joselito Guyguyon since it experienced calamities and disasters during the past years and the issue of where to temporarily house the victims for safety and refuge has been a lingering problem.
Rev. Revyn Tuguinay with DILG-Ifugao Provincial Director Regina Mammag, Mayor Guyguyon and Vice Mayor Roel Dulnuan led the blessing of the new edifice.
Mammag congratulated the municipal government of Kiangan for being the first in Ifugao to construct an evacuation center which is an indication of good governance. (JDP/DBC- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
