Recently, PVET trained 25 Supreme Student Government (SSG) officials and members of the Namulditan National High Scool (NNHS) of this town on chicken raising and organic feed formulation.
The participants were taught chicken raising and organic feed formulation through lecture, discussion, video showing, demonstration and hands on practicum.
PVET Training Coordinator Ferdinand Dunuan lectured on native chicken industry, breeds and stocks to raise, space requirements for feeding watering , rearing the day-old chicks and growing stocks, housing management and health and diseases management.
PVET Agriculturist Gilbert Caclini, meanwhile, discussed feeding management, farm recording, feed formulation and led the demonstration and practicum on organic feed formulation.
Dunuan bared that the training was conducted following the coordination of the NNHS school principal and school adviser with the PVET about Department of Education Order No. 49 series of 2011 or the Mandated Programs, Projects and Activities of the Supreme Student Government. This mandates SSGs of public and private secondary schools to implement co-curricular activities and other programs, projects and activities annually in the school and the community.
They agreed in this undertaking that will redound for the own good of the students, the NNHS populace and the community.
After the training, the PVET will monitor weekly the activities of the SSG and will check on their forage production and the growing of chickens.(JDP/DBC- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
