BFP inaugurates new building in Ifugao

LAGAWE, Ifugao, Oct. 28 (PIA) - -   Personnel of  the Municipal Fire Station (MFS)  here finally have a safe and permanent home which they can call their own.


Local and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) officials and fire fighters from the 11 municipalities witnessed the inauguration of the two-storey building located at Lumingay, Poblacion, Lagawe constructed through the collaborative efforts of the BFP and the local government unit (LGU).

Senior Fire Officer 4 Ireneo Tilan, Jr.,  Municipal Fire Marshal, disclosed that the new building has a total budget of P3.250 million. “ The LGU provided the P.650 million as counterpart while the P2.6 million is  from the budget of the BFP,” Tilan said.

 BFP Cordillera Regional Director Lilibeth Simangan lauded the people who exerted efforts for the construction of the new building.

“Establishment of fire station in every municipality is our mandate  to ensure that the community is safe from all the destructive effects of fire and there would always be available personnel, should emergency incidents occur,” Simangan stated.

She stressed that having a decent, stable, safe and comfortable and permanent home for all firefighters is one of her greatest dreams and firefighters’ dream also.

“Having a permanent home for all of us is giving dignity and self-worth to all the things that we do,” the Regional Director said.
