Alfonso Lista and Asipulo landed second and third places, respectively. All the 11 municipalities of the province participated in said contest that would encourage the different municipal local government to design and innovate their clean and green program and ordinances that would enhance solid and liquid waste management, as provided under Provincial Ordinance No. 2012-17.
Provincial Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Officer Domingo Mariano explained that the criteria for judging include presence of municipal ordinance supported by programs and executive orders on clean and green endeavours – 35 points; presence of sanitary landfill or controlled dumpsite and waste recycling facilities – 30 points and
Effectiveness/efficiency in the implementation of the ordinance and programs – 35 point.
Prizes in the form of development projects are at stake: P100, 000.00 for the first place; P70, 000.00 – second place; P50, 000.00 – third place and P10, 000.00 as consolation prize to non-winners. (PIA Ifugao)
