Continue forging harmonious relationship with communities, police urged

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, July 31(PIA) -- Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan recognized the police force as being a dynamic and the most ever-present organization as he encouraged   them to continue  forging harmonious relationship with the community towards a peaceful and orderly society.


Domogan, in his message during the culmination program of the 23rd Police-Community Relations Month here, stressed that communication lines between the community and the police should always be open for opportunities of dialogues that will lead to a better working relationships and cooperation.

The mayor, who is also the chairperson of the Regional Development Council, called on the police to relentlessly work together in winning the hearts and minds of the people through police community relations.

He shared the same sentiment of President Rodrigo Duterte that he is willing to die with the police when they do their duty in the bounds of the law, and that bad eggs in the PNP ranks must be removed so that the names of righteous cops will not be tainted by the wrongdoings of the others.   

Domogan   led the awarding of   outstanding PNP units, personnel, and stakeholders who displayed significant contributions and invaluable services that have greatly contributed to the over-all peace development initiatives of the PNP.

Leading the awardees was the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) which has been   awarded as the ‘Best Police Office’ in the country during the national culmination of PCR Month in Camp Crame.

The Benguet Police Provincial Office was recognized as the outstanding police provincial office while the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station as the outstanding municipal police station.

Awarded as outstanding PCR Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) of the Year was Supt. Jomarick Fellina of the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) while   outstanding PCR Junior PCO was Senior Inspector Ramon Espiritu Jr. of Abra PPO. Outstanding PCR Sr and Jr non-commissioned officers were SPO4 Rogelio Limbawan of La Trinidad MPS and PO2 Gabriel Potpoten of Bontoc MPS, respectively.

“I am proud of the men and women of the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO -COR) who are working hard to secure the region and maintain peace and order at the same time engaging the public. We congratulate the Baguio City Police Office   for bagging the national award in the Philippine National Police as the Outstanding Police Office,” said PRO-Cor Director P/CSupt. Rolando Z. Nana.

PRO-COR also recognized some partners for their invaluable support for community-police relations- Reinaldo Bautista Jr, chairman of the Regional Advisory Council, Rev. Francisco Sanchez of the Abra Provincial Advisory Council, Mayor Rodolfo Juan of Flora, Apayao, boxing trainor and referee Tarcicius Mero, Dr. Higinio Clyde Abellanosa of La Trinidad MAC, Ifugao Provincial Advisory Council, Andres Ngao-I of Kalinga Advisory Council and Mountain Province Gov.
