6 fire stations in Abra near completion

BANGUED, Abra, March 8 (PIA) - - Six fire stations  in the province are about to be finished even as the  Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) hopes to provide fire stations in all municipalities in the near future.

FO3 Andrea Barreras, spokesperson of the BFP-Abra Provincial Office, said the fire stations in the municipalities of Lagangilang, San Quintin, Licuan-Baay and Sallapadan are nearing completion.

Barreras also informed that renovation of the existing fire station in Bucay is already done while the construction of the fire station in San Juan is already completed though not yet turned over to the LGU.

She explained that  the fire station in San Juan, though already 100% accomplished and ready for occupancy, is not yet operational because there is no fire truck yet issued by the BFP. However, Barreras said, the BFP is ready to field fire personnel to man the fire station there if the LGU or there is anyone or any agency that would donate a fire truck.

Barreras assured the public that the BFP is ready to respond in times of fires anywhere.   (JDP/MTBB - PIA CAR, Abra)
