Abraeñeans surrender 68 firearms for SAFE 2019

BANGUED, Abra, Feb.8 (PIA) -- In support for a safe and fair elections (SAFE) 2019, some   Abraeñeans have voluntarily surrendered their firearms and explosives.

 

Various firearms  are  surredered by the politicians of Abra   as their show of support  for Safe and Fair 2019 national and local elections.

A total of 68 firearms plus one riffle grenade were surrendered to the Abra Provincial Police Office (APPO) headed by PSSupt. Caesar S. Tannagan through the Pulong-Pulong sa Barangay conducted by the various municipal police stations in the province.

Of the 68 firearms surrendered, 42 were voluntarily surrendered by politicians and political leaders for safekeeping by the APPO during the election period to prevent commission of election-related crimes.

The surrendered firearms and explosive were formally presented to Cordillera Police Regional Director PCSupt. Rolando Z. Nana during his visit to Abra in Jan. 29.

The Provincial Joint Security Command Center is spearheading the campaign for a peaceful, honest and credible election.  (JDP/MTBBeñas - PIA CAR, Abra)
