Kalinga employees urged to be models of good tax payers

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, March 9 (PIA) -- Government employees of both local and national agencies  are urged to pay their real property taxes before end of this month to serve as example to other taxpayers and likewise  avail of the  ten percent discount.

 

Provincial Treasurer Ines De Ocampo, made this appeal before employees to help them  meet their  collection target this  first quarter. As gleaned from the 2017 monitoring data, real property tax collection is far below goal efficiency level.

Real property tax collection  target of the province in 2017 was set at  P37.8 million  but  actual collection was  only P13.4 million.

Provincial Assessor Jeffrey Uyam aired the same appeal for government workers to set the standard and be models of good citizenry by paying religiously their  correct taxes for other taxpayers to follow.

March is  observed as “Tax Consciousness Month” with the theme: “Strengthening Peoples Commitment For Good Governance Through Sustainable Local Fiscal Growth via Payment of Taxes”. (JDP/PIA-CAR, Kalinga)

Mayor belies negative reports against Baguio

IP group ordered to account for royalty

BAGUIO CITY – The regional hearing office of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) in the Cordillera ordered officials of the Indigenous Peoples Organization of alang, Pokis, Sta. Fe, Sabian, Oliba and Luacan (IPO-APSSOL) to account for the royalty that the group received from Philex Mining Corporation starting 2008 to 2012.
