BIR-Kalinga exceeds 7-month collection target

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Sept. 20 (PIA) -- The Revenue District Office (RDO)-11 covering the provinces of Kalinga and Apayao had collected P391.667 million from January-July this year exceeding its P382M collection target for the period.

Hilario Boacon of RDO-11 reported top collection sources are income tax, profit, percentage, excise and Value Added Tax.

If the collection trend continues, the revenue office can meet its P727M collection target for the year, Boacon hinted.

Explaining that tax is a basic obligation and the country’s ‘life blood’, he urged tax payers to pay the right amount to the government.

In line with this, he advised tax payers to visit their office for assessment before they remit their tax dues at the Land Bank of the Philippines.

Boacon also informed everyone of BIR’s Electronic Filing and Payment System (EFPS) where filing and payment of tax is done on-line. The system, he said, makes transaction more convenient to individual tax payers provided they are properly registered with BIR’s EFPS structure.

Under the system, individual tax payers can opt to remit their payments using their bank accounts through on-line fund transfer. (JDP/ Larry T. Lopez-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
