DOST Kalinga assists more micro enterprises

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Aug. 1 (PIA) - - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) approved   four additional livelihood assistance projects for   micro-enterprises in the province this year.


Leizle Isaguirre of DOST said   the P200,000.00 assistance for the Alvendo Food Products  and P900,000.00 for the Caesar’s Welding Shop were released last month. To be awarded this August are the P300, 000.00 for the Ed-Ed Highland Flavor and P200, 000.00 for the Arboleda Food Products.  

The project proposal of the Adesta Hollow Blocks amounting to P400, 000.00 is still being evaluated.

 It can be recalled that DOST released in June this year P3 million for the upgrading of facilities of three local manufacturers to enable them to engage in mass production of their products.  

In another development, Isaguirre informed that DOST will also conduct this year 14 skills training and two forums to organized groups.

These are training on Nutri-Snack and Vegie Noodles Making at Balay, Tulgao, Tinglayan; Meat Processing in Pinukpuk; Taro and Banana Chips processing in Colayo, Pasil; Cornick processing in Dugpa, this city; Jewelry and Accessories making in Tabuk; Soap making in Pantikian, Balbalan; Wine making in Lubuagan and Amdalao in Pasil; Bread and Pastry making in Bugnay, Tinglayan; Maintenance and Operation of equipment in Rizal; Welding and other Metal Craft operation at Purok 3, Bulanao; Vegie Cookies processing for the Kalinga State University; Making of Bread enriched with vegetables at Agbannawag; and Cacao processing in Burayucan.
