DOLE awards livelihood assistance to families of 5 police casualties

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, July 21 (PIA) - - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recently awarded livelihood projects to surviving beneficiaries of policemen killed  and wounded  in the performance of their sworn duties.

 

DOLE-Cordillera Director Exequiel Ronie Guzman  led the awarding of  P20,000 livelihood each to PSI Eduardo Liclic who was wounded in action,  Ameliza Aguinaldo, wife of PO2 Jovenal Aguinaldo, Fenny Elizabeth Compas, spouse of PO1 Charles Ryan Compas; Lucia Tay-od, parent of PO1 Vincent Tay-od,  and Rosita Lawagan, mother of  PO3 Cruzaldo Lawagan. These policemen were casualties in a shoot out while serving warrant of arrest to to a top wanted person in   Malusong, Antonio Canao, Lubuagan, Kalinga last February 21, 2017.

Guzman also  also assured of DOLE’s  available assistance to interested and qualified organized groups,  drug surrenderers,   and victims of disaster .

Meanwhile, DoLE also awarded a  sewing project to  the Student Technologist Entrepreneurs of Pinukpuk Vocational School worth P405,000.00 and cacao tablea processing project to Bantay Improvement Club costing P665,000.00. BY PETER A. BALOCNIT (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
