MASA-MASID networks now organized in all Tabuk barangays

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) --  All 42 barangays in this provincial  capital  have organized their  Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya Mamamayang Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga (MASA-MASID) networks.


City Local Government Operation Officer Mediatrix Alinio explained organization of the MASA MASID is under President Duterte’s directive to free the country from criminality, corruption and illegal drugs.  

As a community-based ‘watch body’, key members of the MASA MASID come from DILG, church and faith-based organizations, Liga ng Barangays,  the Philippine National Police and local anti-drug abuse councils.

Alinio said  MASAMASID groups shall closely work with other established barangay-based bodies with existing programs like Barangay Anti-drug Abuse Councils.They will also partner with media, schools and other volunteer organizations to conduct massive information and education drives.    

Moreover, they will coordinate rehabilitation projects for drug surrenderees so that they could go back to the mainstream of community life.

MASAMASID activities shall be included in the qualifying points in the search for peaceful local government units. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)

10 city hall personnel to be deputized

BAGUIO CITY  – Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan revealed that the Cordillera office of the Department of Transportation and Railways (DOTR) coordinated with his office for the identification of ten personnel of the local government to be deputized by the agency to help in the intensified implementation of the Land Transportation Code of the Philippines as part of decongesting traffic in the various city and barangay roads.
