City LGU launches clean-up drive

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Jan. 25 (PIA) - -  The  city government has launched  clean-up drive in line with its campaign for zero waste and enjoined support of all sectors.


City Environment and Natural Resources Officer (ENRO) Salud Lammawin said   the drive promotes the program of the city-LGU that rallies residents to have     clean surroundings as key to healthy living.

During  the launch, schools, barangays, government employees, businessmen, non-government organizations, police and army had their respective assignments to clean  that include drainage canals, parks, road sides, public areas and irrigation canals.

Part of the drive includes installation of signage boards to help increase people’s awareness on proper waste management.

Lammawin said the drive had steered intensified enforcement of city ordinances on placing garbage bins at public terminals and inside public utility vehicles

The city ENRO which spearheads the drive, deploys a team from one barangay to another for wider reach.   

In a related move, the ENRO supports the public clamor here against the unsanitary spitting of “moma” at public areas. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
