DOLE provides more livelihood, employment projects for iKalingas

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Jan. 25 (PIA) - - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), provincial office here reported it awarded P1 million under the Bottoms Up Budgeting (BuB) to 113 small scale miners in Pasil for their convenience store.

 

Dr. Alexander Gumabol, provincial DOLE head, said this is in order for the beneficiaries to have a store that sells their common needs that they can all patronize and benefit from.

He said another P1 million  under BuB is  due  for  release to Lubuagan  to purchase  sugarcane crusher for  sugarcane wine making of  50 beneficiaries,  and to  enhance haircutting shop to benefit 20 people and a  bakery for 40 association members.

Under Tulong Pangkabuhayan Sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program, P3 million was worked out by the Office of the Congressman to pay labor of 500 workers of various skills.

For the Government Internship Program or GIP, P4 million was downloaded for the employment of more than 140 who applied for the six months employment period.
