Palangdan said this is in connection with the road clearing project and anchored on the solid waste program of the local government.
Earlier, he instructed the community to include stray animals along barangay, municipal, provincial or national roads in the road clearing program as the animals cause accidents.
Palangdan cited the presence of dogs, goats, sheep, chicken, and ducks roaming around streets and public places. Owners of cows and horses should have their pastureland, he added.
“We have to protect our families. Let us clean our surroundings. You keep your dogs in your backyard so that they will not roam around and scatter their poop that may become source of sickness,” Palangdan stressed.
He said stray animals roaming around the more populated areas such from Tuding, Ucab until Poblacion have decreased. But he personally went around announcing for the residents to keep informed of the appeal to leash their animals.
The local government is sprucing up of its roadways which is part of the town’s founding anniversary celebrated on December 11. Ongoing are the contests on street art painting, murals and landscapes among barangays which will end on Dec. 9. (JDP/SCA-PIA-CAR, Benguet)
