The local government unit (LGU) opened vendors or business establishments within the province the market days flocked by residents of Lagawe and nearby municipalities scheduled mainly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Police officers and personnel of the Municipal Anti-criminality and General Services and other enforcing entities are tasked to implement strictly the face mask/shield and physical distancing ordinance.
Violators of the health protocols will be penalized on site. Penalties include payment of P100.00 for the first offense; P300.00 for the second offense and third offense is P500.00 or imprisonment of at least one day but not more than 10 days at the discretion of the court and cancellation of permit for business establishments.
Meanwhile, Mayor Martin Habawel, Jr. issued policies on the entry of cargo and delivery vehicles in the municipality including travels to and from other places especially in high risk places and lockdowns.
Delivery vehicles may enter the municipality provided that the driver and his companions must have individual medical clearance or travel authority specifying Lagawe as destination or part of the routes of the travel. They must wear facemask with face shield, shall not interact with people and leave immediately after unloading their cargoes.
Travels to and from high risk areas shall be regulated by the barangay local government units, municipal health office and the municipal police station. It is the responsibility of the people to arrest or report those who have passed undetected at the quarantine checkpoint.
Names of persons who travel outside the province may be posted on facebook for the information of the public.
Sitios, puroks and barangays may be placed on temporary calculated lockdown for purposes of contact tracing, testing, quarantine and disinfection. Full lockdown may be declared in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
