DTI-Ifugao Provincial Director Valentine Baguidudol awarded the livelihood kits to 95 Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the towns of Banaue, Hingyon, Hungduan, Kiangan, Lagawe and Lamut. These MSMEs are engaged in various business industries like wearable and homestyle, processed food, coffee processing, blacksmith and trading of goods.
These livelihood kits consisting of equipment, tools, additional stocks and other raw materials were provided through the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) of the DTI to accelerate and augment the current business of the recipients especially this time of COVID pandemic.
Baguidudol explained that there are different livelihood kits for the recipients because the basis for the procurement was on what are needed in their respective business. This is also to encourage more micro-enterprises especially in rural areas with the hope that they would initiate progress in their barangays.
The LSP-NSB is designed to provide livelihood opportunities and support to existing micro-enterprises under Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. Beneficiaries may include sole proprietors, cooperatives or sectoral associations that are local in identified barangays including those in local communist armed conflict-affected areas and vulnerable communities.
