Marichelle Costales, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer said the Department of Tourism (DOT) has already conducted a virtual inspection on the various health protocols which were put in place with its opening next month.
“The Nueva Vizcaya People’s Museum and Library gets ready for the new normal as the MGCQ allows the operations of museums and galleries at 50 percent capacity,” she said.
Costales said the recent virtual inspection of the People’s Museum for its COVID-19 protocol readiness is a requirement for the renewal of its DOT accreditation, being a tourism - related enterprise.
The Nueva Vizcaya People’s Museum is the only museum in Cagayan Valley Region to be accredited by the DOT.
According to Costales, the art gallery which will be opened to the public next month shall strictly impose thermal scanning of all guests, filling-up of health declaration forms and will be subjected to sanitation and health protocols.
“We will also will limit the number of guests visiting the historical building, declared as an Important Cultural Property (ICP) by the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya and the National Museum,” she said.# (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
