The program also highlighted the recognition of Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong as the “Disiplina Muna” Ambassador for Cordillera.
DILG – CAR Regional Director Marlo Iringan with partners from other regional line agencies unveiled the 7 pillars of “Disiplina Muna” messaging for Cordillera. These are Road Clearing, Disaster Preparedness and Resilience, Anti – smoking, Ease of Doing Business, Liquor Ban, Environmental or tourist spots cleanup, and Anti – Drug Abuse Campaign.
Iringan outlined that the advocacy campaign is a very good and important program in pushing for a culture of discipline towards good governance and inclusive growth, as well as in the fight against the COVID – 19 pandemic.
“In every facet of governance and in every facet public service discipline should be embraced by each and everyone of us. In every part of our personal life, if we can embrace discipline we can move forward better and faster. More importantly during this time of pandemic, discipline is our best weapon against the COVID – 19, by simply complying with the basic minimum health requirements,” Iringan said.
Magalong, in his keynote message, calls for continuing partnership in the Cordillera in putting discipline as a key strategy in the fight against COVID – 19.
“Discipline is what is defining us from other compatriots on what we ought to do, moving ahead, as the pandemic threat continues to lurk everywhere. Discipline is what will carry us through to the very end, as we remain steadfast to priceless values which measure us from what others are,” Magalong stressed.
“Kaya naman and panawagan sa panahong tulad ngayon: Sa hirap at ginhawa, disiplina muna! Nandyan ang ating pag-asa!,” he added
In the same program, Jesus Sison of the Council for Restoration of Filipino Values; BGEN Henry Dayaoen of the AFP 503rd Brigade; and Baguio City Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President – Councilor Levy Lloyd Orcales, also delivered their message of support to the DILG “Disiplina Muna” advocacy campaign.
