The event held at the Baguinge barangay hall was attended by officials and would be entrepreneurs who were oriented about the NSB and other programs and services of DTI. Personnel of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the Philippine Information Agency shared their programs and services.
NSB is a program created to replace the ‘5-6’ system and to alleviate poverty by micro-financing small time businesses as well as providing seminars and trainings to enable them to become competent entrepreneurs.
It also aims to bring government closer to small businesses and boost assistance through the establishment of barangay help desks for countryside businesses to flourish. It intends to maximize the entrepreneurs’ potential until they can stand on their own especially in these difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic.
Thirty one NSBs will be established in the nine municipalities this year to reach out and assist more entrepreneurs in the community. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
