Ifugao LSP recipients commit for economic progress

LAGAWE, Ifugao, July 17 (PIA) - - Beneficiaries of the Livelihood Seeding Program (LSP) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) committed to use the assistance to grow not only for their enterprises or organizations but for the whole community to  achieve economic progress. 

 

 “We pledge  to dutifully attend and actively participate in scheduled entrepreneurship trainings or relevant skills training requested by our local government; submit updates on the performance of my enterprise to the DTI field office and participate in other initiatives that would complement the provided livelihood assistance,” the 56 recipients stated in  their pledge of commitment.

The beneficiaries thanked the DTI for the assistance amounting to P5, 000.00 to P8, 000.00 in the form of livelihood kits they received and the trainings   that will contribute to the success of their businesses.

Genelyn Hampuy of Caba, Lagawe said that she will use the livelihood kit she received to start her mushroom production. “I am praying that in the future I’ll be having my own business to help in our financials needs, though I am a teacher by profession but no work yet, thanks to God and DTI,” she stated.

Irene Rose Dulawan, a “pinun-nog” (native longganisa) processor of Duit, Kiangan, said she learned a lot from the various seminars on business opportunities like products branding and disposing sponsored by the DTI that made her business clicked.

Shirley Kimmayong and Ofelia Pragata of Lamut town encouraged other micro-business owners to register to the DTI to avail government programs and services that are beneficial to them.

“The success of our business lies in our hands so we need patience, courage, discipline and determination. Let’s value the assistance provided by the government so that the service providers will be inspired to give more assistance and that someday we will provide employment to our “kababayans,” she said.
