IPPO Director Police Colonel David Dugninon Mariano, reported during the Peace and Order Council meeting that from February to June 8, 2020, the province has listed 73 crime incidents compared to the same period last year with 139.
“Index crimes also decreased by 35 crimes or 76% for the same period last year. This can be attributed to the mass deployment of PNP personnel and other law enforcement forces during the quarantine,” Mariano said.
Index crimes include the eight focused-crimes which the Philippine National Police constantly monitor such as murder, homicide, physical injuries, rape, robbery, theft, carnapping and cattle rustling.
For this year, Hingyon has the highest with 20 incidents, followed by Lamut with 19, Kiangan – 7; Alfonso Lista and Lagawe – 6; Banaue – 5; Hungduan – 4; Asipulo and Tinoc – 2, and Aguinaldo and Mayoyao – 1,” Mariano said. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
