The office of Rep. Loren Legarda in coordination with the Antique Provincial Government (APG) will be providing a free trip to Antiqueños who would like to go home onboard the Fast Cat, said Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao during the Antique Inter-Agency Task Force for Covid-19 press conference on Tuesday.
“Only the first 500 Antiqueños would be able to avail of the free trip because of the observance of social distancing,” Cadiao said.
Cadiao said the stranded Antiqueños should present their health certificate and travel pass or travel authority from their place of origin.
“For Antiqueños who would like to only take vacation in the province, they are advised to meanwhile defer their plan because the free trip would only be for the stranded students in Manila, displaced workers and construction workers,” she said.
She also said Antiqueños may coordinate with the office of Legarda or with the Antique Provincial Tourism Office (APTO).
APTO head Juan Carlos Perlas said in a separate interview that the tentative schedule for the trip would be first week of June. A bus will be provided most likely from Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) to Batangas Port.
“From Batangas the Fast Cat will transport them to Lipata Port in the municipality of Culasi,” he said.
The Ro-Ro trip would be around 11 hours from Batangas to Lipata Port, he said.
“The respective municipal governments of the Antiqueños onboard the Ro-Ro vessel will be notified so that they could fetch their constituents at the Lipata Port,” he said.
