The designated checkpoints are established in the town’s entry and exit roads at Puguis, Shilan, Km 3, and Tawang manned by police force, local officials and ideally a health personnel.
Those entering the municipality are screened by police. Entry of non-La Trinidad resident is not allowed except for medical emergency, health service providers, food delivery; pharmaceuticals and essential food and workers, in skeletal mode such as those in the business process outsourcing (BPO) offices and banks.
For those allowed entry, they must undergo quarantine procedures like filling out of health declaration form. To facilitate entry procedure, the declarant can download the form at DRIVE.GOOGLE.COM, fill it out which will just be handed when he or she reaches the checkpoint.
Other checkpoint procedures are thermo scanning. If no symptoms and no travel history or exposure, he or she may proceed and allowed entry to the municipality.
If with fever or respiratory symptoms and travel history / exposure from COVID positive areas two weeks ago, classified as person under monitoring, undergo information and education and will be advised for home quarantine and for further monitoring by the barangay health emergency response team.
For those travelling outside the municipality, a certificate from the barangay hall where he or she resides will be secured indicating that the person is a bona fide resident of the barangay. If applicable, the barangay will issue a medical or health/certificate to the applicant.
Moreover, he must secure a permit to travel at the municipal gym. Bring government issued identification card and cedula.
For necessary travel within the municipality, no need for barangay certificate of residency.
Meanwhile, 24 - hours curfew is in effect in the municipality. Window hours effective March 23 is from 9:00AM to 1:00PM for the residents to purchase their supplies and attend to medical and banking needs. The barangays are providing rides for their residents for these purposes.
The barangays will issue pass slips to all households within their jurisdiction which the bearer (1 person per family) must carry during the window hours to do groceries, market, go to bank or for medical needs.
Mayor Romeo Salda appealed for the cooperation of the residents during this enhanced community quarantine to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as he reiterated the advisory for people to stay home, observe social distancing, wear face mask and wash hands thoroughly. (JDP/SCA-PIA CAR, Benguet)
