DOLE – CAR Regional Director Exequiel Ronie Guzman, in a DOH – led media briefing here, disclosed that the one time P5,000 financial support is provided to all workers in the private sector with employer - employee relationship who have been displaced or whose works were suspended either permanently or temporarily.
The same assistance is open to retained workers whose working hours or working days are reduced due to the implementation of flexible working arrangements, though for this case , it is the employers who will file for the application for their employees and with an establishment report on COVID – 19 and company payroll as the documentary requirements, Guzman explained.

Guzman disclosed that they have standby fund of P10 million for the program and that they have already received about 2,000 applications for the financial assistance. There are around 10,000 private sector workers in the region whose work are affected by the COVID – 19 health emergency.
For informal sector workers, Guzman also disclosed that DOLE has the TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantage/displaced workers) program that can provide short term (10 to 20 days) community - based work/employment wherein payment will be the highest prevailing daily minimum wage in the region.
He bared they are looking into the “Bahay Ko, Barangay Ko” disinfection work, and have talked to Mayor Benjamin Magalong that if the city government will have a massive disinfection work, they will fill in with the COVID - affected informal workers and DOLE will pay for their daily wag
