DSWD – CAR Regional Director Leo Quintilla during meeting of the response cluster of the Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CRDRRMC), Wednesday, reported that Quick Response Teams are already activated and quick response fund of P3.5 million for food packs and non-food items is on standby.
Under their response implementation plan, Quintilla said they are targeting to provide family food packs(FFPs) to around 100,000 vulnerable households in the region that include the 64,633 poor households listed in the DSWD – CAR’s Listahanan. The barangay officials will be tapped for the identification of the other FFP beneficiaries, he added.
The DSWD – CAR already requested for the production of 1.2 million FFPs. Each DSWD FFP is worth P522 and contains 6 kilos of rice, 8 canned goods (corned beef, tuna and sardines), 6 sachets of coffee and 5 cereal drinks. It is enough for two days for a family of five. Quintilla said DSWD – CAR is has started production of FPPs at the Baguio City DRRM Office and at their regional warehouse in Wangal, La Trinidad Benguet. 15 areas in the different provinces in the region are identified and FFPs production will commence once the purchase of supplies is completed.
