During the 1st quarter meeting of the Local Health Board (LHB), Soriano who is the chair of the board, has already ordered the city's General Services Office (GSO) to purchase disinfectants/sanitizers and misting machine to facilitate the activity giving priority to schools and facilities which served as billeting and contest areas during the weeklong National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held in the city on March 9-13, 2020.
“If we can start the spraying immediately then the better,” he said to the members of the LHB as classes will resume March 18, 2020. He said private schools are also encouraged to conduct same activities as well as government and private establishments.
The city hall’s main entrance has five medics on-duty who facilitate thermal scanning to all clients and employees prior to their entry to the city hall. Sanitizers were also made available at the entrance.
Soriano also urged all hotels, restaurants, malls and other establishments frequently visited by the public to purchase enough sanitizers and thermal scanners for their use.
He also warned those spreading fake news about COVID that they will be made liable for sharing wrong information.
Meanwhile, Dr. James Guzman, city health officer here said, it is important to boost our immune system especially the senior citizens as they are the vulnerable victims of the virus.
As of now, Cagayan Valley remains free from COVID-19 according to the latest reports of the Department of Health (DOH) here issued earlier today. (MDCT/GVB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
