RDC Chairperson and Abra Governor Maria Jocelyn Bernos with NEDA Regional Director Milagros Rimando and Department of the Interior and Local Government(DILG) Regional Director Marlo Iringan awarded plaques to the 2019 RDC Forwarding Local Autonomy Medal of Excellence (FLAME) awardees.
Leading the awardees were the municipality of Bucay, Abra which was adjudged as the 2019 RDC FLAME Champion for the 4th -6th Class Municipalities or Category 3, and Baguio City for the Highly Urbanized City/ Province Category or Category 1. The awards were received by Bucay Mayor Victorino Baroña and lawyer Richard Dayag Jr. of the City Mayor’s Office, respectively.
Mountain Province Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr. received the RDC FLAME special award for the Category 1.
For Category 2 or the 1st-3rd class municipalities, Special awardees were La Trinidad and Buguias in Benguet and Bontoc and Paracelis in Mountain Province.
For Category 3, awardees were Lamut, Lagawe and Asipulo in Ifugao; Bauko in Mountain Province; Tublay in Benguet and San Juan in Abra
The winners are selected based on previous awards received recognizing the respective LGUs’ efforts towards good governance, support to RDC initiatives and advocacies on regional development and autonomy, and participation in RDC-led activities.
The FLAME awardees are chosen by the RDC Regional Awards Committee chaired by NEDA-CAR with the Regional Assessment Team chaired by DILG. (JDP/RMC- PIA CAR)
