With the theme “Savouring Moments Together,” members of the Ifugao Retirees Association Inc. (IRAI) recently held their 36th General Assembly at the municipal gymnasium here to share the joys and challenges of retirement, and to present their accomplishment report and discuss matters to improve their programs and services.
Guided by one of objectives of the IRAI which is to provide social and economic assistance to members, the Board of Directors during the meeting approved the increase of the mortuary aid to its deceased members due to the substantial savings of the association and increased membership.
The IRAI currently has a total membership of 1,013 from the previous 950 recorded in 2019 with the municipality of Lamut having the most number of members with 276. Lagawe is next with 251 while Kiangan has 250 members.
The IRAI was organized to cherish and strengthen close ties, camaraderie and unity, promote and develop understanding, encourage and help one another, provide social and economic assistance to members and to be an asset to society
Lamut Mayor Mariano Buyagawan, Jr., who was the guest speaker, enjoined the retirees to pass on the godly knowledge and wisdom they have acquired over years to the younger generation.
“Glorify God as well keep all the faith as we finish the race rather than simply fading into the background. God is watching us on how we perform the last lap of our closing years,” Buyagawan said. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
