Governor Ferdinand Tubban, DILG-Cordillera Regional Director Marlo Iringan, DILG Provincial Director Max Mayer Adong, Rizal Mayor Karl Baac, members of the Sangguniang Bayan and other local officials led the inauguration of the Depalog-Villejo and Alaminus access roads at Barangay Liwan West and Babalag West .
These two projects were funded under Local Government Support Fund-Assistance to Municipalities (LGSF-AM) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and implemented by the Rizal local government unit.
Both projects were issued notice to proceed in November of last year with 120 calendar days to complete, however, the LGU was able to finish these on January 18 or ahead of schedule, Adong said.
Rizal is the first to implement 2019 AM projects in the Cordillera region, he informed.
Adong bared that other AM projects for 2019 provided in other municipalities include a local access road in Dao-angan, Balbalan; a bridge in Lubuagan, an evacuation center in Pasil, concreting of Gumbowoy access road in Tanudan, upgrading of Poblacion to Dananao access road and construction of evacuation center in Tinglayan.
The LGSF-AM aims “to equitably assist all municipalities in the delivery of basic services by providing financial subsidy to municipalities for the implementation of their priority programs and projects.”
Projects funded under the program are local access roads and bridges, potable water system projects, evacuation center and disaster risk reduction-related equipment, small water impounding projects, rain water catchment facilities, sanitation and health facilities and municipal drug rehabilitation facilities.( JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
