Inspeksyon sa mga establisyemento sa Palawan, itutuloy sa Pebrero--DOLE

PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan, Enero 10 (PIA) --- Magpapatuloy sa buwan ng Pebrero ang ginagawang inspeksyon ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Palawan Field Office sa mga establisyemento ng mga pribadong kompanya sa lungsod at lalawigan.

 

Nilinaw ni Chief Labor and Employment Officer Luigi Evangelista ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - Palawan Field Office na ipagpapatuloy nila sa Pebrero ang ocular inspection sa mga establisyementong pang-negosyo sa Puerto Princesa at Palawan. Kanila aniya itong pansamantalang sinuspende noong Disyembre upang hindi mabahiran ang kanilang opisina ng mga espikulasyon na nanghihingi sila ng regalo sa mga negosyante. (Larawan ni Leila B. Ito ang kinumpirma ni Luigi Evangelista, hepe ng Labor and Employment Office sa Palawan, sa isinagawang ‘Kapihan sa Philippine Information Agency (PIA) kamakailan.

Paliwanag niya, mandato ng kanilang opisina ang pagsasagawa ng inspeksyon (regular man o biglaan), pero pansamantala nila itong sinuspende mula noong Disyembre 2019 upang maiwasan ang mga espikulasyon na nanghihingi sila ng regalo sa mga negosyante.

“Hininto talaga muna namin ang ocular inspection, kasi ayaw naming mabahiran ang aming opisina ng mga hinala na ngayong kapaskuhan, kaya kami pumupunta sa mga business establishment para mabigyan ng regalo, iniiwasan namin ‘yon,” paglilinaw ni Evangelista.

Ang pahayag na ito ni Evangelista ay bilang tugon sa ipinanukalang resolusyon sa Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Puerto Princesa na humihiling sa DOLE na magsagawa ng mga hindi inaasahang inspeksyon sa mga pribadong establisyemento upang malaman kung nagpapasuweldo ng tama ang mga ito sa kanilang mga empleyado.

Ayon naman sa hepe ng DOLE- Palawan, hindi sila nagpapabaya sa kanilang tungkulin na bantayan ang pasahod ng mga pribadong kompanya sa kanilang nasasakupan. Sa katunayan aniya, sa kanilang ipinatupad na  inspeksyon noong Pebrero-Hunyo noong nakalipas na taon, mayroon nang mahigit 20 na mga tagapag-empleyo ang kanilang na-isyuhan ng compliance order, habang lima naman ang nabigyan ng Notice to Lift Garnishment ng National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC).

Kasunod nito ang babala ni Evangelista sa may-ari ng mga establisyementong pang-negosyo lalo na ay mayroong mahigit sa 10 manggagawa na dapat ay nabibigyan ng pangunahing pasuweldo na P320 ang kanilang karaniwang mga empleyado, bukod pa sa mga nararapat na benepisyong matanggap ng mga ito.

Kaniya namang hinikayat ang mga empleyado na magsumbong o dumulog sa kanilang opisina sapagkat tumatanggap aniya sila ng “anonymous’ na tagapag-sumbong, na siyang magiging batayan ng kanilang gagawing imbestigasyon. (LBD/PIAMIMAROPA-Palawan)
