He said he will pursue more road development projects such as by-pass roads, road widening, Farm to Market Roads (FMRs) and opening up other access roads for traffic rerouting.
“This will help in easing traffic in our municipality and provide more road access to our farmers in bring their produce to the market,” he said during his recent 100 Days message.
Alejandro also urged barangay officials to help in scouting proposed areas for road development projects.
“We will do this by exploring possible negotiations and expropriation procedures so that we can maximize them for our constituents,” he added.
The local chief executive also said the improvement of the public market will be one of his priorities to help the business sector and further spur economic development.
Some of his projects during his first 100 days, he said are the improvement of the meat section of the town’s public market and the completion of two Multi-Purpose Buildings for barangays.
He also bared that the local government unit is looking for areas for housing projects for the poor in partnership with the Gawad Kalinga and other agencies.
According to Alejandro, the LGU continues to provide financial and medical assistance to the poor sectors, sick and elderly in the municipality.
The LGU, he further said has set aside P5,000.00 each as incentive for centenarians including the provision of free assistance to poor schoolchildren.
Continuing free medical, optical, dental and blood letting activities will also be done for the health benefit of the villagers.
On agriculture, Mayor Alejandro said the LGU has provided P2 million for a farmers’ cooperative in town as capital for buying rice from farmers.
“These are just initial projects and actions that we had made and with the support of other sectors, we can do more in the coming months,” Alejandro said.# (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
