“We are very happy in the DILG that you have enacted an ordinance designating local Legislators’ Day because it is just proper that we will recognize the efforts, the passion that you put in your work,” Director Marlo Iringan told hundreds of legislators composed of board members, municipal councilors and barangay officials during the celebration at the Lagawe Public Plaza on October 9.
He said legislators are considered the people who make things happen in all levels of local government. He stressed that the role of legislators is very important because the power to legislate is indispensable in creating a civilized society. The ordinances, resolutions and measures passed are very important instruments in protecting and promoting the general welfare of the people.
“Without these measures there could be chaos in the locality. We salute each and every one of you because of the effort that you put into your work,” Iringan said.
