Taguig City, Baguio City and Ilagan City were conferred with the Nutrition Honor Award, the highest distinction given by the National Nutrition Council to Consistent Regional Outstanding Winners in Nutrition (CROWN) awardees who have consistently shown outstanding implementation of its nutrition action plan for six consecutive years.
This year’s awardees received P1,000,000.00 cash prize and the NHA trophy.
Ms. Eden A. Cordova of Barqangay Witan, Daet, Camarines Norte was recognized as the National Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (NOBNS).
Cordova was recognized for her commendable effort in the establishment of the Nutri-Challenge Program in her barangay, a program that aims to improve the nutrition situation of children by developing desirable behaviors and caring practices of parents. She received aP150,000 cash prize and a trophy.
This year’s CROWN awardees include: Calapan City, Dipolog City, Ibajay Aklan, Cagayan de Oro City, Carmen, Bohol and Maco in Campostela Valley.
CROWN 1st Year Maintenance Award were given to: Santa, Ilocos Sur; Santa Fe, Nueva Viscaya; Mabalacat, Pampanga; Biñan City, Calabarzon; Misamis Occidental; Vigan City; Tublay, Benguet; Talavera, Nueva Ecija;Alicia, Zamboanga, Sibugay and Polomolok, South Cotabato while the 2nd Year CROWN Maintenance Award was conferred to: Kalayaan, Laguna; Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, Roxas Occidental Mindoro and Tagum City.
