Ramon Ramento, municipal agriculturist said the series of trainings for clustered barangays was conceptualized by Mayor Eufemia Dacayo to help poor villagers and farmers.
"By teaching them with corn waste utilization, they can venture into alternative livelihood while they wait for their corn products to reach maturity stage,” he said.
Ramento added that they will start the training with the villagers of clustered barangays of San Juan and Bangar as initial participants.
The training, funded by the LGU and ATI covers rice and corn blending as food consumption and corn waste utilization among farmers and their families.
"The training will provide our farmers opportunity to use the four month period in other income-generating livelihood projects using corn waste," Ramento added.
“Instead of waiting idly as their corn products comes to maturity, they will keep themselves busy by engaging into other livelihood activities so that they can maximize their skills and waiting time,” he added.# (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya )
