TESDA - Ifugao provides 160 slots for free competency assessment

LAGAWE, Ifugao, June 13 (PIA) - - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)  is providing  more than 100 free slots  for  Competency Assessment and Certification for Workers (CACW) or industry workers at the provincial training center  here.


Ricky Mayat-an, Competency Assessment and Certification (CAC) focal person of TESDA-Ifugao, said  a total of 160 slots are  being offered for free CAC for skilled workers  on  a first come, first served basis.

 “These include Masonry National Certificate (NC) II – 50 slots, Carpentry NC II- 40, Tile Setting NC II - 40, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II - 10, Electrical Installation and Maintenance (IEM) NC II - 10 and Automotive NC II – 10 slots,” he said.

 Mayat-an clarified that if the free slots are filled-up, the concerned skilled worker shall pay the needed assessment fee in accordance to the kind of qualification or course. Interested individuals are advised to visit the TESDA-PTC with the requirements like certificate of employment, two passport side ID pictures and birth certificate.

He  also announced that on June 26-27,   TESDA will conduct free National Assessment Day (NAD) in all Accredited Assessment Centers (AAC) nationwide.

 TESDA – Ifugao is among the accredited assessment centers for courses like Masonry NC II, Carpentry NC II, Tile Setting NC II, SMAW NC II, EIM NC II and Automotive Servicing NC II. Beneficiaries are industry workers, career shifters, unemployed adults, TVET graduates and teachers and trainers.
