Ifugao to cap Nutrition Month with nutri-hataw, awarding of winners

AGUINALDO, Ifugao, July 26 (PIA) - - The Provincial Nutrition Council (PNC) is set to conclude the celebration of the 43rd Nutrition Month  next week  in this town with “nutri-hataw” contest  and recognition of nutrition winners.

 

The “nutri-hataw” contest will be participated by at least 15 to 20 people of mixed ages from each of the municipalities. Time limit is 10 - 12 minutes and that there will be demerit of one point for every minute under/overtime. It should start with a warm-up followed by the exercise proper and the cooling off/down.  The criteria for judging include mastery, 30%; creativity, 30%; rhythm and timing, 20% and stage presence, 20%.

Certificates of recognition and cash prizes shall also be awarded to the winners of the   Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation otherwise known as the Provincial Search for Green Banner Award. The award includes most outstanding barangay nutrition scholar and nutrition committee.

The nationwide theme for the Nutrition Month celebration this year is “Healthy diet, gawing habit-For Life!”  This aims to promote the consumption of healthier foods and discourage the eating of unhealthy foods, encourage families and individuals to eat a balanced diet with a variety of food in the right quantity and maintain an ideal body weight to reduce obesity and non-communicable diseases; create awareness among them on making the right choices of food and encourage the food industry, producers, distributors, and farmers to make healthy foods available to all.
