DTI – Ifugao opens fourth Negosyo Center in Kiangan

KIANGAN, Ifugao, June 6 (PIA) - - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the province has opened a Negosyo Center here recently to give a boost to existing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and would-be entrepreneurs in the area.

DTI Provincial Director Valentin A. Baguidudol said the local government unit-based Negosyo Center is the fourth to be established in the province.  The other Negosyo Centers are located in Alfonso Lista and Banaue LGUs and   at the DTI-Ifugao office in Lagawe.

The Negosyo Center services include the provision of business registration assistance, business advisory services, and business information and advocacy. It also monitors and recommends business-process improvement for MSMEs and establishes a feedback mechanism among entrepreneurs in the area.

Mayor Joselito G. Guyguyon assured the counterpart of the LGU to the Negosyo Center.  Aside from providing NC space, the LGU would designate a staff to complement the NC Business Counselor deployed to the center.

He stressed the need to provide entrepreneurial trainings and product development assistance to Kiangan entrepreneurs to improve the quality of their products and services.

“With the opening of the Clark-Bagabag Airport for air travel, the province would be expecting an upsurge in tourist arrival. This latest development in the tourism industry would be a boost to the local economy,” Guyguyon stressed.

Sanggunian Bayan member Gemma A. Dimog, chairperson of the Committee on Trade and Industry lauded, the DTI for its “generous effort in bringing the NC programs to the LGU of Kiangan.

“The Negosyo Center would “spur business growth and tourism in the locality, and will increase the revenues of the private sector that, ultimately, will augment the LGU’s internal revenue allotment,” Dimog stated.

The establishment of Negosyo Centers is in line with Republic Act 10644 – the Go Negosyo Act of 2014.   The said Act supports national development, promotes inclusive growth and poverty reduction by encouraging the establishment of MSMEs that facilitate the creation of more job opportunities, production, and trade.
