CHARMP2 turns over P1M for livelihood projects in Ifugao

HUNGDUAN, Ifugao, Jan. 24 (PIA)- - Towards its goal of reducing poverty by increasing household income in the target areas, the Second Cordillera Highland Agricultural Resource Management Project(CHARMP2) turned over a total amount of P1 million to three municipalities of the province as Livelihood Assistance Fund for several people’s organizations as beneficiaries.

 

The turnover ceremonies took place on January 18 in Hingyon, January 19 in this town and January 20 in Mayoyao and attended by the members of the POs beneficiaries and witnessed by the local government officials.

The LAF is under the Agriculture, Agribusiness and Income Generating Activities Component of CHARMP2, a special project of the Department Agriculture. This is given to qualified livelihood interest groups (LIGs) after a one-year period of implementing livelihood projects to earn income for their groups.

The municipality of Mayoyao got the lion’s share with total amount of P600,000 given to seven LIGs namely the Chumang Women’s Organization, Magulon Upland Farmer’s and Livelihood Organization, Magulon Livelihood Organization, and Nattum Rural Improvement Club with P50,000 each, and Magulon Ginger Producers and Livelihood Organization ,Nattum Swine Raisers Organization,Nattum Women’s Organization and Chaya Rural Improvement Club with P100,000 each.

The LIGs beneficiaries of Hingyon are the Bangtinon Women’s Organization and Mompolia Swine Raisers Group that received P100, 000 each; the Mompolia Women’s Organization and the AMK Association with P50, 000 each.

For Hungduan, the LIGs are the Bokiawan Women’s Organization and the Bokiawan Farmerr’ Organization which got P50, 000 each.
