DA Sec. calls for unity among leaders

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Aug 13 (PIA) -- Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol calls for unity among the officials for the Filipino people.

Piñol who led the Tapatan Forum with Cordillera governors, congressmen, mayors and other stakeholders at the Agriculture Training Institute at the Benguet State University  here on Wednesday night called on the different elected officials to work together as one and look on how they can help their constituents.

“Since election is all over, we have to work together as one,” said Piñol.

“We, at the Agriculture Department,  will be working will all the leaders, regardless of political parties. The important thing is that the officials that were elected by the people represent the people and we,” he added.

Piñol said that this is the appeal of President Rodrigo Duterte to have unity among the local leaders, regardless of political affiliations for the benefit of the people and the development of their communities.

He also called on the government officials and employees to change their ways and be a partner for change. He urged corrupt government officials and employees to stop their corrupt actions and instead work for the people.

“Noon pwede nyong gawin ang gusto nyo pero iba ang panahon ngyon sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Duterte,” he said.

During his visit at the BSU, Pinol together with the Cordillera leaders opened the “Brown for Good Challenge Riceponsible” showcasing the different heirloom rice from the Cordillera provinces. (JDP/RMC- PIA CAR) *Redjie Melvic Cawis
