BAGUIO CITY, Mar. 5 (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission-Cordillera Administrative Region (CSC-CAR) is urging Human Resource Management Officers (HRMOs) to submit nominations to the 2018 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.
During the recently conducted “Interactive Session with HAP Implementers, Program Partners and Stakeholders,” George Manzano, chief HR Specialist of CSC-CAR, informed that the CSC thru CSC Memorandum Circular No. 32, s. 2017 issued on 23 October 2017 announced the acceptance of nominations to the 2018 Search for Outstanding Government Workers. The deadline of submission of nominations to the CSC-CAR Regional Office or to any of its Provincial or City Field Offices will be on 30 March 2018.
The CSC conducts the annual Search to recognize public service exemplars in the bureaucracy. It covers elective and appointive officials and employees holding permanent, temporary, coterminous, contractual, and casual status of employment in the government, whether stationed in the Philippines or abroad. Appointive barangay officials and employees may also be nominated upon meeting certain conditions.
The Search has three award categories - The Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees or Dangal ng Bayan Award and the Civil Service Commission Pagasa Award.
The Cordillera region used to be a goldmine of nominees and awardees of the Honor Awards Program (HAP), however, there was a sudden decline in the number of HAP awardees from the region in the last two years with only one awardee in 2016, and no awardee in 2017, Manzano bared.
“We hope to share stories of competence, determination, self-sacrifice, and integrity in government as a testament to the fact that many public servants go the extra mile without expectation of reward,” Manzano said in enjoining HRMOs to nominate their officials and employees who have done extraordinary contributions that have impact in the furtherance of public service or have demonstrated exemplary ethical behavior.
