BAGUIO CITY, Aug.17 (PIA) -- The bid of the city and the province of Benguet to host Palarong Pambansa 2018 is supported by Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Adanar.
During his visit in this mountain resort over the weekend, Andanar promised to support the Palaro hosting bid of Baguio City and Benguet and endorse it to the Philippine Sports Commission thru its Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez.
“I have already signified my commitment to endorse the Palarong Pambansa in the Cordilleras,” Andanar said during the press briefing here on Saturday.
The Secretary earlier announced his support in meetings with the information officers from the different regional line agencies, local government units and private sectors, and with local chief executives and members of the Regional Development Council.
Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan and Benguet Governor CrescencioPacalso expressed their gratitude to the endorsement of the PCOO Secretary to the joint hosting of the 2018 national sports competition tagged as “Coolest Palaro” in reference to the city’s cool climate.
Both local chief executives also expressed readiness to the hosting of the palaro with the preparations they have made with the Department of Education-Cordillera Administrative Region.
Just recently, stakeholders led by Domogan, La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda, Benguet Provincial Administrator Noel Ngolob, DepEd-CAR Regional Director May Eclar and world champions Eduard Folayang and Jeordan Dominguez spearheaded the signing of commitment to the Coolest Palaro ever. Also pledging their support are stakeholders from the academe, business, transport volunteer emergency responders, law enforcers, city, municipal and provincial officials and government agencies.
