BAGUIO CITY, July 27 (PIA) -- The National Nutrition Council (NNC) in the Cordillera region announced the 2017 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) results with the municipality of Tublay, Benguet as the top winner.
MELLPI aims to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of implementation of local government unit’s nutrition action plan using an evaluation tool and assessed by the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team, said Bella Basalong, Nutrition Officer III of the NNC.
For the Regional Green Banner Award, Tublay, Benguet topped the municipal category garnering a total score of 100 percent.
There is no awardee under the provincial category since no province even met the 90 percent required to qualify as awardee, Basalong said.
For the Search for the Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars (ROBNS), Imelda Dagupon of Barangay, Imelda Village emerged as the winner with score of 97.2% followed by Glenda G. Kiasao of Little Tadian, Alfonso Lista in Ifugao with a score of 86.67%.
Balisong also informed that Baguio City and the province of Benguet were evaluated by the National Evaluation Team for the first Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) maintenance and Alfonso Lista, Ifugao for second year CROWN maintenance.
The winners will be recognize during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony in October together with municipal local government units with stunting prevalence of less than 10% in the last three years (2014, 2015 and 2016); LGUs with continued reduction of stunting; barangays with zero stunting prevalence and most Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Committees based on the searches made by the provinces.
