Abra teachers get first aid training

BANGUED, Abra, April 13 (PIA) -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Abra Chapter conducted first aid training among teachers to strengthen their capacity to save lives in everyday and emergency situations.

Nineteen teachers from Dolores and San Juan have successfully completed the Summer Safety Training of the Red Cross.  Component of the Standard First Aid Training are skills on bandaging and bleeding control, lifting and transfer of victims.

The trainees were also taught on School-Based Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Community-Based Psychosocial Support Program.

PRC-Abra Chapter Administrator Ivy Venus S. Avendaño emphasized that  such training increases   awareness of participants on  the possible dangers in a domestic environment, to prepare every member of the family for unexpected incidents, and to teach them basic first aid measures in case of emergency situations.
